Scott Nation leads the team in all facets of ambulatory surgery center development, management, and operations; bringing more than 30 years of performance-driven experience in the healthcare industry with continued demonstrated success in leadership, communication, and innovation. Scott has implemented the turnaround of numerous ambulatory surgery centers specializing in pain management, general surgery, orthopedics, ophthalmology, and ENT. He has extensive experience in Joint Commission, AAAHC, and Medicare accreditation.

Marie Dorflinger, MBA, BHSc, CPHQ, Chief Clinical Officer, leads clinical operations for Velocity Surgical Management’s existing and new build clients. Marie brings two decades of healthcare experience in acute care and ambulatory settings. She started her nursing career in the operating rooms at a large hospital system supporting New Zealand and the South Pacific, before into the ambulatory surgery center space. Prior to joining Velocity, Marie worked for Regent Surgical Health (TN), Starpoint Healthcare (CA) and AMSURG (TN), overseeing clinical, quality, regulatory and accreditation initiatives for dozens ambulatory surgery centers. 

James de Ciutiis

James de Ciutiis is a seasoned healthcare executive with over 20 years of leadership in Ambulatory Surgery Center operations, founding and selling Surgical Care America before serving as Senior Division VP at AmSurg (2008–2019) where he oversaw 25 centers across eight states, then leading Starpoint Health (2019–2021) through a successful turnaround and sale; throughout his career he has driven growth, strategic partnerships, and operational excellence while mentoring leaders and fostering physician engagement.

Brad Hamilton

Michael “Brad” Hamilton has an extensive healthcare career spanning over 30 years. He currently serves as Vice President of Operations for Velocity Surgical Management. In this role, Brad is responsible for providing operations and business development support for hospital and ambulatory projects. He also works with other Velocity Surgical Management executives to evaluate overall growth strategies and driving new development projects that include clinics, expansion of hospital service lines, ambulatory surgery centers, acquisition and joint venture opportunities, and many others.

Ashley Young, Vice President of Business Office Services, brings 16 years of Business Office Operations and Revenue Cycle experience in Ambulatory Surgery Centers to the Velocity team. Based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, she previously served as a Revenue Analyst for Ovation Healthcare and Business Office Manager for the Chattanooga Pain Surgery Center.

Patricia Keenan

Patricia Keenan, RN, CASC, CPHRM is a Clinical Consultant for Velocity. She has over 25 years of experience in critical clinical, administrative, and executive roles within the outpatient healthcare industry. She began her career as a Radiologic Technologist before advancing her education to become a Registered Nurse. Patricia holds certifications as a Certified Administrator Surgery Center (CASC) and a Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM).
In her most recent role with a national ASC organization, she served as the Clinical Administrator of a multi-specialty ambulatory surgery center in Florida, where she played a key role in the center’s turnaround, growth, and sustained success. Patricia brings extensive expertise in accreditation, CMS compliance, project development, and revenue cycle management. She is widely recognized as a knowledgeable and effective hands-on leader.

C. Eric Jones

Vice President of Finance

Eric Jones is the Vice President of Finance for Velocity Surgical Management. A data-driven healthcare and hospital finance executive with more than 25 years of experience, Eric is the architect of QHR Health’s operating and financial improvement program, and has collaborated with many client hospitals, providing executive oversight and support of hospital financial operations. He has gained expertise in short/long-term strategic financial planning, business plan development and implementation, service line financial performance analysis, business case economic justification, debt capacity studies and cash flow forecasting and management.

Judd Peak serves as General Counsel for Velocity Surgical Management. Judd is an attorney with over 25 years of legal experience, including tenure at two revenue cycle firms. He is responsible for contracting, strategy and oversight, risk management, litigation and corporate entity management. He is frequently sought as a speaker and has published articles and book chapters on healthcare payer issues, privacy regulations, compliance programs, risk assessments and labor relations.
