Brian Brown, Vice President of Operations for Velocity Surgical Management, has 20 years of experience leading multi and single specialty facilities for ambulatory surgery center companies. Before joining Velocity, Brian was responsible for the operations of 10 outpatient surgery centers as Regional Vice President at AMSURG. He also has held leadership roles at Meridian Surgical Partners and Symbion Healthcare (now Surgery Partners). Brian earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Tennessee Technological University and a Master’s in Accounting from Belmont University.
Michael “Brad” Hamilton has an extensive healthcare career spanning over 30 years. He currently serves as Vice President of Operations for Velocity Surgical Management. In this role, Brad is responsible for providing operations and business development support for hospital and ambulatory projects. He also works with other Velocity Surgical Management executives to evaluate overall growth strategies and driving new development projects that include clinics, expansion of hospital service lines, ambulatory surgery centers, acquisition and joint venture opportunities, and many others.
Marie Dorflinger, MBA, BHSc, CPHQ, Vice President of Clinical Operations, leads clinical operations for Velocity Surgical Management’s existing and new build clients. Marie brings two decades of healthcare experience in acute care and ambulatory settings. She started her nursing career in the operating rooms at a large hospital system supporting New Zealand and the South Pacific, before into the ambulatory surgery center space. Prior to joining Velocity, Marie worked for Regent Surgical Health (TN), Starpoint Healthcare (CA) and AMSURG (TN), overseeing clinical, quality, regulatory and accreditation initiatives for dozens ambulatory surgery centers.
Eric Jones is the Vice President of Finance for Velocity Surgical Management. A data-driven healthcare and hospital finance executive with more than 25 years of experience, Eric is the architect of QHR Health’s operating and financial improvement program, and has collaborated with many client hospitals, providing executive oversight and support of hospital financial operations. He has gained expertise in short/long-term strategic financial planning, business plan development and implementation, service line financial performance analysis, business case economic justification, debt capacity studies and cash flow forecasting and management.
Steph Lanier brings over 25 years of experience leading high performing finance teams of varying size across multiple industries. Prior to joining Ovation Healthcare, Steph spent several years at a respiratory medical device company as Head of Global Tax and International Finance. Through her own consulting firm in Washington DC, she helped many businesses navigate high growth, major transactions, and interim gaps in executive leadership. Steph has an MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and is currently finishing a CFO certification program at Columbia Executive School with an emphasis on strategy and mergers and acquisitions.
Melissa Cureton is a Certified Public Accountant with over 20 years of experience in the corporate healthcare setting. She has a diversified focus in accounting, cash flow management, financial reporting, risk management, accounting software implementation, and capital raises. Her experience in healthcare has included both start-ups and large healthcare organizations. She is currently the Vice President of Finance, Growth and Integration at Velocity Surgical Management.
William Parker, Revenue Cycle Specialist, has 16 years of Operations and Revenue Cycle experience in Ambulatory Surgery Centers. He currently resides in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Before joining the Velocity team, he was the VP of Business Office Services for Ally Healthcare and the Administrator/Business Manager for the Chattanooga Pain Surgery Center.
Judd Peak serves as General Counsel for Velocity Surgical Management. Judd is an attorney with over 25 years of legal experience, including tenure at two revenue cycle firms. He is responsible for contracting, strategy and oversight, risk management, litigation and corporate entity management. He is frequently sought as a speaker and has published articles and book chapters on healthcare payer issues, privacy regulations, compliance programs, risk assessments and labor relations.
